Last Saturday, September 19, the Minister of Foreign Relations, Celso Amorim, reunited for almost three hours with the Cuban president Raúl Castro, to whom he delivered a letter of president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The content of the message wasn´t revealed.
From Havana, Amorim followed to New York, where he opens the 65th Annual Assembly of the UNO, on Thursday.
The Brazilian chancellor also talked with the Cuban Vice-president, Ricardo Cabrizas, about the growth of the bilateral cooperation in the areas of transport and construction and technological development.
Brazil has interest in enlarging its participation in the works of enlargement of the Port of Mariel, in the development of small and medium Cuban enterprises and in the intensification of the trade between the two countries.
According to the Itamaraty, Brazil already invested in Cuba US$ 1 billion, in several projects, including the works in the port.
