President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva decided to devote, in person, for the success of the agreement secured by Iran with the endorsement of Turkey about the uranium enrichment.
After sending letters to the presidents of the United States, Barack Obama, of France, Nicolás Sarkozy, of Russia, Dmitri Medvedev, and of China, Hu Jintao, Lula now recovers the support of the Union of the South American Nations (Unasur).
He works to avoid that sanctions be approved in the UN Security Council.
This Thursday, Lula talked about the subject with the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to the Palácio do Planalto (translated: “Palace of the Plateau”, seat of the government), there are points in the agreement signed by Iran that aren´t resolved.
Lula also decided to communicate with the Mexican president, Felipe Calderón.
Mexico takes over the presidency of the UN Security Council in the 1st of June.
In the letters, Lula detach that Iran fulfilled its part when formally informed the terms of the agreement secured with Brazil and Turkey to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
