Honduras: Brazil and Venezuela don´t integrate Commission of the OAS

Brazil and Venezuela decided not to integrate the Commission of the Organization of the American States (OAS) that will visit Honduras next week attending decision approved in Lima, Peru, in August.

The respective chancelleries didn´t give explanations about it.

Ecuador will represent the countries of the Union of the South American Nations (Unasur) and of the Bolivarian Alliance (ALBA).

The United States and Canada also participated of the diplomatic effort.

According to the OAS, the Commission of High Level will be composed by representatives of 12 countries that, together, are going to prepare a document about the situation of the democracy in the country.

The report is considered decisive by the Organization.

It may represent the reintegration of Honduras to the Inter-American system and the recognition of the government of Porfírio Lobo.

The conclusions will be subjected to the Annual General Assembly of the OAS. The Assembly is responsible to vote the Honduran return.

In parallel, emissaries of the deposed president Manuel Zelaya and of the elected ruler Porfírio Lobo negotiate the internal normalization in meetings carried out in Washington with officials of the government of the United States.
