On the next August 4, the Brazilian Centre of International Relations (CEBRI) and the Prospectiva Consulting promote the Seminar “Leadership and Responsibility in the New International Agenda of Brazil”, which will be carried out in Brasilia, in the auditorium of the Brazilian Confederation of the Industry (CNI).
According to the organizers, the seminar intends to stimulate the discussion about the emergence of new subjects in the process of internationalization of the Brazilian economy and its reflexes in the public policies, and private strategies for the next government as well as its regional impacts.
The opening will be at 9:00 and it will be attended by the ambassadors Antônio Patriota, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, and José Botafogo Gonçalves, president of the CEBRI; and Ricardo Sennes, of the Foresight Consulting.
They will discuss the Current Scenery of the Brazilian Foreign Politics.
At 9:30, in the first panel – Political and Economical Challenges for the International Insertion of Brazil – there will be Peter Hakim, president of the Inter-American Dialog, and Pedro da Motta Veiga, director of the Centre of Studies of Integration and Development (CINDES).
The second panel (11:15) – Political Leadership: Questions of International Security – will have the participation of the professor Antônio Jorge Ramalho, of the Secretary of Strategic Affairs; of the ambassador Roberto Abdenur, of the CEBRI; and of Alexandra Bugailiskis, Assistant Secretary-General for the Latin-America and Caribbean, of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Canada.
This panel will have the moderation of Ricardo Sennes.
In the afternoon, at 14:30, the third panel will be carried out – Economical Leadership: International Trade and Investments – with Armando Mariante, vice-president of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES); Horácio Aragonés Forjaz, vice-president of Corporative Subjects of the Embraer; and Reginaldo Arcuri, president of the Brazilian Agency of Industrial Development (ABDI).
The ambassador José Botafogo Gonçalves will be the moderator.
The fourth panel (16:00) – Challenges for the Next Presidency – will reunite the ambassador Sérgio Amaral, of ‘Felsberg Associates’; Marco Aurélio Garcia, international adviser of the Presidency of the Republic; and the journalist Sérgio Léo, of the newspaper ‘Valor Econômico’ (translated: ‘Economic Value’).
The ending will be at 17:00 and it will be in charge of the executive director of the CNI, José Augusto Coelho Fernandes; of the ambassador José Botafogo Gonçalves; and of Ricardo Sennes.
